The Alpitec and ProWinter exhibitions will both take place in the city of Bolzano from 13-15 April 2010. It is already clear, even six months before the opening date of the two international shows for mountaineering technology and winter sports respectively, that the third edition of this fusion event, has met all the requirements needed for a successful repeat, which has always been achieved up to now. The proof is in the numbers: in 2006 there were 287 exhibitors and 9,445 visitors, in 2008 there were 330 exhibitors and 9,550 visitors. Given such figures, Bolzano Fair predicts the turnout for 2010 will be more or less the same. However they believe that the tenth edition of ProWinter, the exhibition for winter sport rentals and services, could set a new record in the number of exhibitors and visitors as there were 239 exhibitors and 5,459 in-sector visitors in 2009.
Two Well-Established and Well-Structured Events
The place and the date of the event have intentionally been set to coincide with the tail end of the winter season. These two factors have, without a shadow of a doubt, contributed to the success of the two specialized trade shows. Bolzano, a city located in one of the most well-known winter tourism regions in Europe, is the ideal stage for the meeting grounds. The event, which will take place two weeks after Easter 2010, will draw on operators in the sector coming from some of the most noteworthy Alpine regions. Alpitec/ProWinter is the only specialized event of its kind organized in the German-rooted region. It is considered an ideal showcase for information on new innovative techniques and sport trends for the up-coming summer market as well as planned investment projections for the winter 2010-2011 season.
The products to be offered at the Alpitec specialized international exhibition will be streamlined and well structured in 2010. Technicians working in ski resort areas will find everything that revolves around the classic sector of winter technology: ski lifts, snow cannons systems as well as tools for creating and maintaining ski slopes. Model sized machines for year-round use will also be on display, including technical solutions for ploughing snow and summer maintenance. The ProWinter international exhibition for winter sport rentals and services will feature a large space reserved for first aid tools and equipment, slope safety and protection, along with everything involved in the management of guest access control, administration, communication and information technology.
The ProWinter exhibition in Bolzano is now considered to be one of the most important exhibitions in the world for winter sports. The event will certainly prove to be a solid point of reference for those working in the Italian supply sector as well as foreign companies in the ski service and rental sector. These suppliers will undoubtedly find the combination of the two specialized exhibitions to be a real professional and well supplied showcase. The exhibition will also be great for those involved with cableway systems, ski schools, equipment and sporting good retailers. During the pre-event phase many participants have already been confirmed and participation requests are being filled. Organizers of the event have already seen great interest in the exhibition from Italian and foreign operators. Aside from the big international names, there will also be many small businesses at the exhibition, many of which see participating in the trade show as a great opportunity to get into contact with those working in the various sectors of interest.
For the first time Bolzano Fair will collaborate with the Chamber of Commerce of Tyrol, which is present with an area dedicated to businesses of Northern Tyrol. The Bolzano Fair management believes that the Alpitec/ProWinter show will offer a wide and complete array of high quality products and services particularly geared towards equipment and machines.
A wide array of projects
The International Ski Federation F.I.S. will strengthen and lend its support once again to Alpitec/ProWinter in 2010. Their support will emphasize the importance these two events have achieved, which feature the technology and winter sports sectors as well as Alpine tourism. Alpitec/ProWinter will also be supported by the O.I.T.A.F., (International Organization for Transportation by Rope), Italian, Swiss and German associations as well as the Dolomiti Superski Consortium and the Associazione Direttori Stazioni Invernali D.S.I.
In collaboration with the above mentioned partners, Bolzano Fair will issue a detailed event program on the various subjects that will be explored at the event. These issues will range from safety, training in the ski sector, to the layout of ski slopes as well as sport and tourism marketing. Company planned events will take place at the forum located in the exhibition pavilion as they traditionally have in the past. In addition to this, the conference hall will play host to many events, among which will be conferences and conventions of various associations.
The Alto Adige and Tyrol day, which is focused on cableways, proves to be an interesting point in the program of events. This event, which has reached its seventh edition, will be held April 15, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the first time at the Alpitec/ProWinter show. Every two years and in alternating turns, the cableway association of Alto Adige and the group of Tyroleans specialized in cableways organize a meeting, which is normally held in the Fall. However, this meeting will take place at the Alpitec/ProWinter show in 2010 as the approximately 330 members of both associations would like to emphasize the importance, beyond regional borders, of trade fairs in Bolzano and the city that hosts them. Siegfried Pichler, President of the Alto Adige Association, has predicted the number of participants will range from 150-200 members, among which also include important politicians from both regions. The event will also take a look at marketing for ski resort tourism, ideas cableway system owners may offer their clients, and incentives for young people in the ski and tourism sectors. The International Ski Federation, supporter of Alpitec/ProWinter, will also play a part in the event.
Various award ceremonies will be held at the Alpitec/ProWinter exhibition as well as a presentation of the winners for the best ski slopes of 2009-2010, which will take place April 14, 2010 at 12 a.m.
